In terms of gender breakdown, Statistic Brain found that more than half of the online daters are males. Another studies by GlobalWebIndex and Pew Research Center verify the result and state that 62% of dating app users are males. 

Some experts suggest that this trend is more likely due to the fact that females online dating users are subjected to inappropriate messages that keep them away from using online dating apps.
